SPORT PT offers Personal Training by NASM certified Cory Rhea.
Do you need to continue your strength-training and reconditioning after physical therapy? Are you looking to further your functional fitness or pre-hab your body to avoid injury this coming season? Do you have a nagging ache or pain when you do your sports or hobbies? After your sport injury recovery are you experiencing different aches and pains in different parts of your body, seemingly unrelated to your initial injury? Are you simply looking to improve your overall health and fitness and want a trainer with a corrective, preventative, and rehabilitative eye?
Personal Training sessions with Cory from SPORT PT might be the solution you’ve been looking for. Cory has Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist certifications through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Cory has been working for 18 months as a Physical Therapy Aide for SPORT PT in Carbondale, running patients through their corrective exercises and stretches as prescribed by the therapists. From that experience he has gotten to work and learn with everyone from post-surgical folks of all ages to high-end athletes with minor postural distortions.

Especially in our valley, folks expect to return to fitness and performance levels they had before injury-gotta keep getting after it! However, injury often causes atrophy and de-conditioning at a much faster rate than we are able to keep up with while being limited during recovery times. Sometimes for insurance reasons, people finish with physical therapy at a fitness and performance level that is not yet back to where they were before injury, and many are hoping to be at an even higher level of performance than when the injury occurred to prevent future injury. This can be a big struggle, as the compensations that are developed during recovery become apparent as people return to higher-level activity. For example, while an initial injury might have affected the right leg, weeks of weight-bearing mostly through the non-injured leg will lead to compensations and altered movement patterns once a patient is back to using both limbs together.
Or maybe you’re someone in this very sport- and exercise-oriented valley who is looking to make positive life changes or begin a new sport? Perhaps 2020 and the covid pandemic disrupted your usual routine and has you out of shape and struggling to find your motivation again. These are all things that a personal trainer can help you navigate and excel at.
No matter who you are or why you’re interested in working with a personal trainer, Cory and the team at SPORT PT can help you get where you want to be, and can teach you the maintenance tools to stay there.
